123 Web Design!
I created 123 Web Design in the hopes of helping new webmasters ease into the process of web design, via a gentle, "non geeky" language.
HTML- The foundation of all webpages, HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language. As much as people would have you believe its a programming language, HTML is really just a series of tags (ie:<b>) mixed with text to allow you to format the contents of your webpage. HTML is extremely easy to learn, and should take the avid student no more than a few days to acquire.
- Basic HTML
CGI- Probably the oldest and most useful "language." on the web. CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface, and refers to the interaction between the server and your visitor's browser. CGI can be implemented using a variety of server side languages, such as Perl, ASP, PHP, and so on. With it, you can create a message board, password protect your pages, display a counter...basically anything that requires persistence and high interactivity.
